Standard Warranty Support

In addition to being extremely reliable, Celestix products are recognized for being easy to install, configure and manage. Celestix Standard Warranty Support enhances these features with:

  • Advanced-exchange replacement of defective hardware for first 30 days.
  • 30 days of telephone or Web-based support for installation and configuration assistance during local business hours
  • 30 days of OS, and firmware updates. Free OS updates for others.

All Celestix products include this Standard Support program.

Repair and Return
First 30 days from the date of purchase: Advanced-exchange

  • Celestix will acknowledge the customer RMA request within 24 hours of receipt.
  • Celestix standard policy is to replace defective unit. Special circumstances or agreements may dictate other actions.
  • Celestix will try to replace the defective unit as soon as possible upon receipt of RMA request.
  • Celestix will ship the replacement unit before the customer sends the original defective unit to Celestix.
  • Celestix will charge the full retail cost of the unit if the unit is not received within 14 days upon receipt of replacement.

After 30 days from the date of purchase:

  • Celestix will acknowledge the customer RMA request within 24 hours of receipt.
  • Celestix standard policy is to replace defective unit. Special circumstances or agreements may dictate other actions.
  • Celestix will replace the defective unit defective as soon as possible upon receipt of RMA request.
  • Celestix will ship the replacement unit after the customer sends the original defective unit to Celestix.

Repair & Return procedure

  • Provide the unit serial number, your contact information, proof of purchase and the reason for return to the Celestix Support Representative.
  • The Celestix Support Representative will provide you with a RMA Number. Write this number down.
  • Remove any accessories and add-ons, like a PC card and place the appliance inside the original packaging box with your name, address and RMA #. Any items sent other than the Celestix appliance will not be returned.
  • Send the appliance to the Celestix support address with the RMA# clearly indicated in the address area.

Shipping and Packing Instructions
When shipping your original Celestix appliance back to Celestix, please follow the instructions below:

  • Pack the appliance using the original Celestix packaging box. If you don’t have the original box, please try to wrap the appliance in bubble-wrap or foam sheets. NOTE: Newspaper or shredded paper material is NOT recommended as packing material. They will settle easily and offer little protection against impact.
  • Line a reinforced cardboard shipping box with two inches of foam on the top, bottom and both sides before placing the appliance in the box.
  • Before sealing, ensure that the product is well secured in the foam so that it will not shift if the box is jarred.
  • Write the RMA number clearly on the outside of the shipping box.  •Please use a traceable carrier such as Federal Express, Airborne Express, or UPS only.
  • Please do not include any of the following items when shipping your appliance, as they will not be returned:
    • CD-ROM
    • User Guide
    • Cables
    • Power adapter

Method of shipping

  • Within 30 days from date of purchase, Celestix will ship the replacement unit to customer via UPS next day service.
  • After 30 days from date of purchase, Celestix will ship the replacement unit to customer via UPS Ground service.

Limited Hardware Warranty Coverage

Celestix’ warranty obligations are limited to the terms set forth below:

Celestix Networks, Inc. (“Celestix”) warrants this hardware product against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of Twelve (12) MONTHS from the original date of purchase. If a defect exists, at its option Celestix will either (1) repair the product at no charge using new or refurbished replacement parts, (2) exchange the product that is new or which has been manufactured from new or serviceable used parts and is at least functionally equivalent to the original product. A replacement product assumes the remaining warranty of the original product or 45 days, whichever provides longer coverage for you. When a product or part is exchanged, any replacement item becomes your property and the replaced item becomes Celestix’ property.

Obtaining Warranty Service

For Hardware Products. If your product is eligible for warranty, deliver the defective product, at your own expense to any Celestix Authorized Service Provider located in your country. If the product is not normally sold by Celestix in the country of use, you may need to be return it to the country of purchase for service.

For Hardware Accessories. A hardware accessory is a Celestix hardware product, specifically designed for use with the Celestix server, that is added on or integrated into a Celestix server in order to provide higher performance, capacity or increased capability; and is listed as a product in Celestix product list. Upon installation inside a Celestix server, the warranty that comes with the accessory applies.

For Third-Party Products. Celestix does not warrant the performance, quality, form or content of third-party hardware or software. Celestix does not warrant third-party documentation that may be distributed with the server. These products may be warranted by the third-party and Celestix provides such products “as is”. Onsite visits caused by third-party software or hardware are subject to standard per-incident travel and labor charges.

When you contact the Celestix Authorized Service Provider, you will be asked to furnish your name, address, telephone number, and proof of the original purchase (receipt) containing a description of the product(s), purchase date, and the appropriate Celestix serial number(s). If proof of purchase is not available, the manufacturer’s date (located on the product) becomes the beginning of warranty period.

Note: It is your responsibility to keep a separate backup copy of the system software, application software and data, and disable any security passwords. You will be responsible for reinstalling all such software, data and passwords. Data recovery is not included in the warranty service and Celestix is not responsible for data that may be lost or damaged during transit or repair. Return your complete product in acceptable and repairable condition.

Exclusions and Limitations

This Celestix Limited Hardware Warranty applies only to hardware products manufactured by or for Celestix that can be identified by the “Celestix” trademark, trade name, or logo affixed on them. Celestix’ Limited Hardware Warranty does not apply to any non-Celestix products or any software, even if sold with Celestix hardware. Other manufacturers, suppliers or publishers may provide their own warranties.

Software distributed by Celestix under the Celestix brand name (including, but not limited to system software) is not covered under this Limited Hardware Warranty. Refer to the Celestix Networks, Inc., Software License for more information.

Celestix and its Authorized Service Providers are not liable for any damage to or loss of any programs, data, or other information stored on any media, or any non-Celestix product or part not covered by this warranty. Recovery and reinstallation of system and application software and user data are not covered under this Celestix Limited Hardware Warranty. This warranty does not apply (a) to damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, misapplication, or non-Celestix products; (b) to damage caused by service (including upgrades and expansion) performed by anyone who is not a Celestix Authorized Service Provider; (c) to a product or a part that has been modified without the written permission of Celestix; or (d) if any Celestix serial numbers has been removed or defaced. Returned product failures caused by non-Celestix products are subject to standard per incident repair charges.

THIS WARRANTY AND REMEDIES SET FORTH ABOVE ARE EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, REMEDIES AND CONDITIONS, WHETHER ORAL OR WRITTEN, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. CELESTIX SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ANY AND ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. IF CELESTIX CANNOT LAWFULLY DISCLAIM IMPLIED WARRANTIES UNDER THIS LIMITED WARRANTY, ALL SUCH WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE DURATION OF THIS WARRANTY.

CELESTIX IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES RESULTING FROM ANY BREACH OF WARRANTY OR CONDITION, OR UNDER ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOST PROFITS, DOWNTIME, GOODWILL, DAMAGE TO OR REPLACEMENT OF EQUIPMENT AND FAILURE TO MAINTAIN THE CONFIDENTIALITY OF DATA STORED ON THE PRODUCT. CELESTIX SPECIFICALLY DOES NOT REPRESENT THAT IT WILL BE ABLE TO REPAIR ANY PRODUCT UNDER THIS WARRANTY OR MAKE A PRODUCT EXCHANGE WITHOUT RISK TO OR LOSS OF PROGRAMS OR DATA.

Some countries, states and provinces do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages or exclusions or limitations on the duration of implied warranties or conditions, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you.
