Support Technician

Location:

Fremont, California

Celestix Networks is a fast growing, privately held enterprise security appliance vendor offering a broad range of ready-to-deploy security appliances and turnkey security solutions. Celestix currently has a great opportunity for a Support Technician to work in a dynamic and evolving environment at their Fremont, California location. This position will primarily help customers troubleshoot technical problems with Celestix hardware/software.

Responsibilities:
  • Accept inbound technical support calls/emails, troubleshoot customer issues, and respond in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Perform third-party interoperability testing, certifications and will aid in the creation of associated knowledge base/whitepaper documents.
  • Reconstruct customer deployments and configurations in a lab setting.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Must be able to act independently without direct supervision.
  • Should be detail oriented, well organized, and punctual.
  • Should be a team player with excellent oral and written communications skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior industry experience desired.
  • Prior knowledge of customer service and support standards and procedures in information technology.
  • Innate ability to analyze existing support operations and procedures, with the ability to formulate new strategies and policies.
  • Familiarity with some of the following products and protocols: Microsoft Windows 2003, MS Active Directory, DDNS, DHCP. WINS, MS RRAS, MS ISA Server 2004, MS IAS (RADIUS), Red Hat Linux, and Nessus.
  • Familiarity with security (firewall/VPN/etc.) products.
Job Requirements:
  • Off hours work (nights and weekends) may be required.
  • Must be fluent in English. Bilingual ability (Spanish) is a plus.
  • No H1B Visas please.
