Senior Sales Engineer

Celestix Networks is a fast growing, privately held enterprise security appliance vendor offering a broad range of ready-to-deploy security appliances and turnkey security solutions. Celestix currently has a great opportunity for a Senior Sales Engineer to work in a dynamic and evolving environment at their Fremont, California location. This position will primarily demonstrate products and facilitate technical inquiries between end customers/resellers and Celestix sales staff.

Responsibilities:
  • Discuss end customer networking requirements and then identify Celestix products that best fit these networks..
  • Provide online demonstrations, assist sales staff and/or respond to RFPs during the presales process. In addition, provide assistance on proof of concept deployments within the end customer’s network.
  • Reconstruct customer deployments and configurations on a whiteboard or in a lab setting to validate design and get reseller/customer buy-in.
  • Provide training and mentoring to technical disciplines within Celestix including: support, professional services and engineering staff.
  • Identify, sell and support professional services in engagements that may require high touch deployments or customized solutions.
  • Provide cover for technical support in escalation situations.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Must have excellent oral (presentation) and written communications skills.
  • Candidate should possess strong troubleshooting, problem solving and analytical abilities.
  • Intimate networking knowledge and familiarity with most of the following networking concepts: TCP/IP, NAT, HTTP/SSL, PKI, DNS/DDNS, DHCP, WINS, 802.1x, load balancing/clustering, RADIUS/AAA, QoS, etc.
  • Familiarity with some of the following products and protocols: Microsoft Windows 2003/2008, MS Active Directory, MS Exchange, MS Sharepoint, MS IAG 2007, MS RRAS, MS ISA Server 2006, MS IAS, MS NAP, Terminal Services, Red Hat Linux, and Nessus.
  • Familiarity with security products including firewalls, traditional (PPTP/IPSec)/ application layer (SSL) VPNs, proxy/content filtering, NAC, endpoint compliance, anti-virus, anti-spam, anti-malware and two-factor authentication.
  • Must be able to act independently without direct supervision.
  • Should be detail oriented, well organized, and punctual.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior industry experience desired.
  • Technical knowledge of some of the following vendors’ product lines: Microsoft, Juniper, Cisco, Citrix, F5 Networks, Sonicwall, Fortinet, Barracuda Networks, Bluecoat, Check Point, Websense, Secure Computing, McAfee, Kaspersky Labs, Ironport, RSA Security (EMC), Vasco, Riverbed, Packeteer, BMC Software, Computer Associates, St. Bernard, VMWare.
  • Prior knowledge of SE/presales standards and procedures in information technology sales.
  • Familiarity with terminology and best practices related to hardware.
  • Prior knowledge of Salesforce.com, GotoMeeting, and/or Visio is a plus.
  • Attainment of CISSP, Microsoft certifications (MCSE, MCP, etc.), Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCSP, etc.) or other demonstrable networking/security competencies is a plus.
Job Requirements:
  • Up to 50% travel may be required.
  • Off hours work (nights and weekends) may be required.
  • Must be fluent in English. Bilingual ability (Spanish) is a plus.
