Hotfixes: A hotfix is a patch that is issued to fix a particular bug. Hotfixes are issued as needed and are distributed from Microsoft's Technet knowledge base. For more information about hotfixes click here. Celestix does not re-distribute hotfixes. They are available only directly from Microsoft.
Updates: An update is a cumulative rollup of all hotfixes issued since the previous major release or service pack. If multiple updates are available for a particular release or service pack, only the most recent update needs to be installed.
Service Packs: Service packs are product releases that incorporate new functionality and cumulative rollups of bug fixes since the previous major release or service pack.
IMPORTANT: Celestix highly recommends that you create a Last Good Version on-box backup of your Celestix appliance before installing any service pack or update. If you do not backup your appliance configuration, you could lose the configuration upon installation of a service pack or update.
